Strands, loose beads, or raw stones?

Stones on a strand are the easiest way to create a complete necklace or bracelet: holes are pre-drilled, sizes are uniform, and you choose the length. Loose stone beads and rondelles are used as spacer beads and details, while raw crystals and pendants provide a striking, natural focal point.

Wipe stones with a soft, slightly damp cloth, and let them dry completely. Avoid perfume, soap, and ultrasonic cleaners on porous stones such as turquoise, opal, and mother-of-pearl. Store jewellery separately to prevent hard stones from scratching softer ones.

Meaning and symbolism

Many purchase crystals for their symbolic meaning: amethyst is traditionally associated with calm, rose quartz with love, clear quartz with clarity, and black onyx with protection. This is cultural and folk tradition, not scientifically documented efficacy – but it often dictates the colour choice in a piece of jewellery.
