The shiny kid mohair fibres come from young Angora goats, where the fibres are extra fine, long, and soft. Mohair is also elastic, durable, and moisture-absorbing, and like silk, it has a natural lustre and impressive strength. The silk in Mayflower Super Kid Silk is mulberry silk, known for its high quality. The silk is sourced responsibly, and the silkworms have left their cocoons before they are harvested. The combination of mohair and silk results in an exclusive yarn with fantastic lightness, softness, and a beautiful, natural sheen. Super Kid Silk is suitable for knitting alone, where the yarn provides an extraordinarily light and airy result with unparalleled softness. It is also ideal as a companion thread with other Mayflower yarn qualities, for example, wool. Here, it adds extra texture and volume, while retaining the light and lustrous appearance of silk mohair. Both mohair and silk fibres take colour exceptionally well, resulting in beautiful and saturated shades.
