Waterproof ear wires in platinum-plated and 14k gold-plated steel

Ear wires

Waterproof ear wires in platinum-plated and 14k gold-plated steel. Ear wires carry drop earrings. Match the eye to the pendant's jump ring and consider the weight of your stones and beads.

Our waterproof jewellery findings have a steel base with platinum plating or 14k gold plating. Platinum-plated steel has a light metallic finish; 14k gold-plated steel has a warm gold colour. These are coatings on steel, not solid platinum or gold. Check each product for its finish, dimensions and variants.

The findings tolerate water in everyday use, but waterproof does not mean the plating can never wear. Rinse after contact with salt water or chlorine, dry with a soft cloth and avoid applying perfume, cleaning chemicals or abrasive polish directly to the surface.

Are waterproof, stainless steel and surgical steel the same?

If you are looking for components for waterproof jewellery, this is the right range. Waterproof describes a property; stainless steel describes the base material. Surgical steel refers to particular steel grades, so check the product specifications rather than assuming all alloys are identical.
