Molly Fine Merino Wool Yarn for Jumpers, Cardigans and Felting

Molly Fine is a 100% untreated merino wool yarn, lightly spun as a single-ply to provide a lofty, airy feel with wonderful volume and clear stitch definition. Developed in collaboration with Molly Egelind, this quality is ideal for jumpers, cardigans, and accessories where natural warmth and texture are key. Each 100 g skein provides approximately 135 metres of yarn.

We recommend 6–7 mm knitting needles or crochet hooks for Molly Fine, with a standard tension of 14 stitches and 18 rows per 10 x 10 cm. We advise making a tension swatch before you begin to compare your stitches, rows, and texture against your pattern for a perfect fit. For larger single-colour projects, always ensure you purchase skeins from the same dye lot to prevent visible shade differences.

Because the merino wool is non-superwash, Molly Fine is also well-suited to felting projects such as slippers, mittens, and bags, where the fibres shrink and interlock securely. Use a pattern designed for felting, make a small felted test piece first, and shape your finished item while still damp. For regular care, hand wash at 30 °C, dry flat, and do not tumble dry. The yarn is mulesing-free and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified.
